Sharrod Williams (he/him) is an award-winning multidisciplinary artist based in New York City.
Originally from Newark, New Jerseyborn on January 14, 1989as the middle child of Kevin and Pamela. With an innate love of learning,Sharrod attended arts institutions most of his life. He began studying music atthe world renowned, Newark Boy Chorus School—touring Russia, Finland, andLatvia in the 6th grade. He went on to attend Arts High School in Newark, NJ as a vocal major. Sharrod is a proud alum of Montclair State University, graduating cum laude with a dual degree in Communications Studies and Dance.
Chasing a full life as a performing artist has led to career onstage and screen on Broadway, off-Broadway, national tours, dance companies, and in Film & TV. Sharrod has led masterclasses and choreographed for dance studios and esteemed organizations including the Joffrey Ballet School, The Institute of American Musical Theatre, The Grier School, through Broadway Connection, and Stage Door Workshops.
Sharrod’s latest life chapter has ushered in the era of writing and producing. The social and political issues of 2020 inspired the making of his own multimedia production house called Cocoa Dusted Media. The idea of “cocoa dusting” symbolizes for him the unique magic that people of color sprinkle into everything they do in life. CDM’s first brain child is the award-winning project, Neighbors (TV Series 2020) in which Sharrod is the Executive Producer, creatorwriter/show-runner, casting director, as well as starred in.
Sharrod believes his super power is connecting with people through storytelling. His favorite quote is, “life’s too short to live the same day twice.” Striving for progress not perfection always, he aims to make the most of everything opportunity by leading with love.
